New Year, New thoughts
I originally got a tumblr probably to be cool. Then I tried to use it to track my adventures while living in D.C., and while that lasted for a while it ultimately failed. I knew, and people kept telling me if I wanted to write I should just starting writing. So as the new year came around I decided to make it my new years resolution to write more.
So now I am back at my tumblr attempting to write about anything. Who knows if anyone will ever see this (let alone read it) but I figured why not? Let me explain my efforts in trying to write often & consistently—
After I graduated from college I didn’t believe people who said it was going to be really hard to find a job. I just refused to believe them and thought I wouldn’t be another jobless graduate. Well, I was wrong. I applied for hundreds of jobs and nothing. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places, maybe I wasn’t qualified, who knew. But here I was another statistic. So after going back to my old restaurant job, I was still on the job hunt and still nothing looked promising. So in an effort not to lose all my brain cells, i decided to enroll in journalism classes at Pasadena City College. Since then I have began contemplating whether I still want to pursue a career PR or if I want to make the move towards journalism. Something I’m still not sure of, which is why I decided I needed to ‘just write’.
I hope as I continue to write I can find a focus on a topic or just find something I can call my own while writing about. I don’t want this to become a ‘dear diary’ type of blog. I just need to have somewhere to focus on my writing and why not start here.
I hope everyone had a fantastic new year and is enjoying everything life has to offer. The one thing I promise to write about is the Rose Parade because it is my favorite time in Pasadena and I love sharing the experiences with everyone and anyone. But first I have my weekly Sunday date with my uncle to watch the Cincinnati Bengals at a bar in Old Town Pasadena. #whodey
Until we write again
